What is ordinary?
Candidly, in insurance quitters define what is ordinary. 92% of people quit this industry before they ever really get started. Most do so within 9 months and the rest that do so generally do it within 2 years. So how do you not end up being ordinary?
• Write an application, if you don't have insurance on yourself write it on yourself! That's cornerstone 1 (scroll down to see all 4).
Will has about $1.2 million on him.
• Become part of the 8% that become at least a first-time writer. Over half quit before writing 6 apps. If you write 6 apps in 6 weeks you are statically more likely to stick in this career. Make it your goal to hit SNA (Seasoned New Agent) by 6 apps in 6 weeks.
• Don't stop at 1 app. About half of that 8% quit after their first app. So that leaves only 4% that start the path to becoming regular writers. This is where families are protected, and the money begins to be made!
Out of the 4%, about half struggle. Why? Unrealistic goals or expectations. This is not a complicated business, but it isn’t easy. This is where cornerstones 2-4 come in to play. They keep you from being a quitter.
• After the industry weeds out the 98% that leave, there are left about 2% that make it even a smaller subset of these become regularly profitable. The goal should be profitability. If that is what you want, then you have to do the work. It is like climbing a mountain top, you get there by continually moving up!
What is extraordinary?
Less than half of the remaining 2% make it to long term success. If you want to be successful, this is the path at Symmetry.
To be extraordinary you must do more than the ordinary.
Practice the cornerstones.
Make a minimum of 3-4X return on your investment.
Buy or produce good leads! Leads = future clients.
Write business that stays on the books for at least a year.
Have a persistency of 60-70%.
We strive for you to part of the 2% or even the 1% of successful writers.
Personal production begins with a first app so write one today and we suggest starting with SBLI or Americo.
Test your knowledge with our agent success quiz.

“Write the vision, and make it plain wherever you write it, so that he that whoever reads it can understand it.” That paraphrase of Habakkuk 2:2 sums up what we want to do as an agency. We want to create 5-star clients by being 5-star agents.
Here is the Adair Agency's vision statement.
We convert leads into 5-star clients by providing insurance assurance.
We promote agents by helping them pass ordinary and achieve the extraordinary.
What is a 5-star client?

Danny Young once said you have to get on it to stay it.

Various Tips
Learn and practice the cornerstones. See above.
Reach out to your mentor (you can do it daily) and provide your status updates. Read the Agency Handbook, it gives you a roadmap to success. Mentors are not mind readers and honestly that would be kind of freaky if they were.
Be communicative. Our model works best for people that catch the vision and make it their own. Join a workroom even if you are in pre-licensing and communicate on Slack.

Want the real secret to success?
Don't tell anyone but here is the secret. Show up early, stay late, reach out to others, reach up to those that are currently at the destination that you want to arrive. 99.9% got there by reaching out and learning one little trick that pushed them further along. It's not easy, but if it were then this would only be worth about $9.95 an hour. You are worth so much more than that or we wouldn't have invited you on our team.
